When we began this journey in January 2025, we had one goal: to make life better for children in Larteh-Akuapem. Today, just six months in, we’re humbled and proud of the impact we’ve made—with the community, for the children, and through the love of every supporter who’s walked with us.
Here’s what The Ampem Darkoa Foundation has been able to accomplish so far:
• 🍲 Fed 52 children consistently for two school terms
• 👕 Sewn and distributed 30 school uniforms
• ✏️ Provided stationery and learning tools (pencils, crayons, sharpeners, math sets) to all 130 students at the school
• 🎒 Donated schoolbags, shoes, underwear, and clothes to children in need
• 🧑🏽🏫 Supplied teaching materials to support our hardworking educators
• 📚 Donated 650 books to start a new school library
• 👩🏽⚕️ Organized a family planning session for mothers in the community
• 💼 Funded small businesses for several single mothers to support their households
• 🛡️ Launched a sexual abuse awareness outreach in 3 schools using rhymes, posters, and child-friendly sessions
And we’re not slowing down.
We’re currently preparing for our next sexual abuse awareness outreach on July 4th, where we’ll visit 3 schools to educate children on their rights and boundaries in a safe, child-friendly way. We’ll also be distributing educational posters to be displayed in classrooms and hallways as daily reminders of safety and self-worth.
Each initiative is a step toward a safer, smarter, and more secure future for these children and their families. We’ve seen school attendance rise, children smiling more confidently, and parents breathing a little easier.
