In our work at The Ampem Darkoa Foundation, we’ve seen how much of a difference it makes when young people have access to the right information about their bodies, their rights, and their choices. That’s why we took our Sexual Awareness Outreach to Larteh-Akuapem in the Eastern Region of Ghana—and it was truly eye-opening.

This time, we partnered with the amazing team from Marie Stopes Foundation Ghana, and their support made all the difference. With their help, we were able to reach even more young people with accurate, practical, and honest information on:
• Sex and reproductive health
• Consent and boundaries
• Menstrual hygiene and body confidence
• Contraception and preventing STIs
• How to speak up about abuse or pressure

The sessions were interactive, open, and real. No judgment. Just honest conversations. Students asked great questions, shared their thoughts, and you could see how much they appreciated having a safe space to learn and talk about things that affect them every day.
Marie Stopes didn’t just talk—they showed up with professionals who offered private consultations for anyone who needed them. It was beautiful to see how many young people left feeling more informed, confident, and empowered.

We’re so grateful to the people of Larteh-Akuapem for welcoming us, and to Marie Stopes Ghana for walking this journey with us. This is just the beginning—we’re committed to continuing these outreaches across other communities, one town at a time.
If you’d like to support or sponsor our next outreach, reach out to us—together, we can keep spreading awareness and protecting futures.
